We tried to get crabcakes when in Maine and being in the Northeast, seafood is our passion. So much tastier crab cakes you might not have enjoyed from any other source before, it is so wonderful. After our trip and we were home, we wanted more crab cakes, but we were not going to drive back to Maine just for the cakes.

So, we decided to look up a crab recipe online. Now, that was hard. Most of the recipes were difficult and told us to buy a certain type of crab meat which was really expensive. I think we’ll have to go back to Maine soon. Whether you are looking to serve crab cakes at your next dinner party or informal get-together, you can find many different recipes for crab cake online. Keep in mind that crab cakes are usually served as appetizers, but they do quite well as an informal entre, or as part of a larger dish. If you don’t want to go by our receipes, you could use the old red mix and hearty tartar sauces. Crab soup: Ingredients 1/2 kg crab meat, cooked and flaked, cartilage removed 1-1/2 cup chicken stock 2 cups water 2-1/2 cups tomatoes, chopped 3/4 cup chopped celery 3/4 cup onion (chopped fine) 1 cup corn kernels 1 cup peas For Seasonings: 1 teaspoon seasoning (a dash paprika and celery) 1 bay leaf 1/4 tsp pepper 1 tsp lemon juice Method Put chicken stock, water, tomatoes, celery, onion, and seasonings in a vessel, and bring to a boil. Simmer for about 20-30 minutes. Add corn and peas. Simmer 10 minutes more (or till the corn is cooked). Add crab meat, simmer until heated through. Remove bay leaf. Serve hot.
