Steps To Saving Gas

December 23, 2009

I know one very good way you can save gas each day, every day. You can ensure that your automobile engine is in perfect working condition. I tell you, it will consume less gas when it does not always have to expel black fumes from incomplete combustion all the time. As a matter of fact, if you must, you can have the engine changed altogether. You don’t want to accelerate too rapidly when you drive. That kind of thing burns gas faster than you realize. Each time you put your foot down on the pedal, you pump a lot of gas into the engine’s cylinders, and they really don’t convert it all into motion that fast. No wonder you have to stop at the filling station every so often. Gradual acceleration is a lot better.

You don’t have to take the car out everywhere you need to be, you know. You can instead choose to walk or jog over short distances; and you can ride the subway too to places that are on the other side of town. It’s more than just a great way to save gas, you know. It is also a great way to save the stress of weaving through traffic much of the time. If the health of your wallet is any concern to you, you’ll look for ways to not consume gas as much as you already do. Or perhaps it did not occur to you that gas was partly responsible for many of your financial struggles. Well, it is.

If only to save this planet from extinction, you should learn ways to save gas. You may be wealthy enough to not feel the pressure of the expense on your wallet, but you cannot in good conscience claim that you have not heard of global warming. The greenhouse gas emissions are killing us. If you burn less gas, you’d be helping a great deal. Give saving gas a try, will you. What have you got to lose besides a few headaches and some financial woes? Plus you do have your health to gain, you know. When there are fewer emissions in the atmosphere, you don’t get as much pollution, and the ozone layer won’t deplete so fast. Less cancer and less respiratory diseases are sure to result from that.

I was in a third world country once and I got an on the job training in saving gas skills. There was a fuel crisis, and I saw the people driving to save gas. They turned off the engine in mid motion and let their vehicles just roll for long minutes without any engine activity. I don’t know how my eyes got back in their sockets or my tongue back in my mouth, but I do know that they popped out. But it works and now I do it all the time. I dropped from a gas tank refill everyday to a refill every three days or something. You have got to hand it to Africa, man. Those guys are like the kings of innovation. When you start to make efforts to save gas, you soon notice the difference it is making to your wallet. You perhaps had no clue about it before, but it is true; you have been spending close to 30 percent of your income on gas, and you had no idea of it. You know you need the saving gas efforts; if not for yourself, for your family.

Cheap motoring is kind of like a dream these days. With the gas rates, saving gas is something that you have to pick up and keep up. So, if it takes you looking around just a bit, do what you have to do to pick it up really fast. Every time you accelerate or decelerate, you actually waste some gas. When you pick up speed, some gas is wasted that does not burn too well because of the change in speed. When you slow, some gas was pumped into the engine to make work, but the work does not get done because you dropped speed. Another waste, but this is inevitable. You can only limit how often that happens. You can drive more consistently to save some gas.
